As a part of my thesis project, I conducted user-centered research on news websites including a full usability study of cnn.com. The study included a user persona created by using user demographics, user scenarios, competitive analysis, collages, a cognitive review, diary study, interviews, literary review, a survey, a card-sorting test, and a usability test. This research was then used to create the design and content of a website focusing on best practices for the design of news websites. Wireframes and prototypes were used to analyze the architecture, labeling, and layout in the creation of the final design.
