The University of Cincinnati hired me as a consultant on this project in the position of UX Strategist/Web Content Manager. I managed the updating of several sections of www.uc.edu including the University Housing/Resident Education site to a responsive web design that is compliant with Section 508, WCAG accessibility and SEO standards.
The Housing and Resident Education departments had two different sites that needed to be combined into one. I began the process by surveying all departments involved in the update project to find out what their expectations and needs were for their website. I was key in creating the project timeline. My team conducted UX research through a card sort, survey, comparative peer group analyses, and other user research techniques to gain useful insights into design pain points and to validate proposed information architecture and content strategy. I managed the card sort, created and conducted the survey and peer content analysis. My data analysis and recommendations were presented in a final Usability Report and a Website Change Proposal.
Using Adobe Experience Manager, I created the navigation, site pages, and components adding content then checked for errors. I led the team to follow best practices in accessibility and SEO, helping to create a guide for future content creators and web managers. I also created text and image content; my photography is featured widely across the site.
