Local Business Website Refresh
A local plumbing business was in need of a an update to their website because it needed to focus on current services offered and not ones highlighted in past years. The owner wanted to promote certain services, especially backflow services, but also needed to maintain traditional services when business was slow during the winter months.
SEO & Competitive Analysis
I started by analyzing the the current site's effectiveness compared to other businesses in the market. Selected key words that were relevant to the business' market were used to analyzing search outcomes in 3 search engines. Competitors websites were analyzed for user experience flows using a heuristic measurement.
Redesign Strategy
The strategy included bringing together SEO, usability and accessibility best practices for an optimal customer experience. The business was using an old logo and favicon. New assets were created (see below) with the owner's input. He did not want to make drastic changes to his logo since his work van had the old logo on it. So the redesign of the logo was in that spirit. The favicon he was more willing to be a little edgy or creative. The website went from four pages to three. A new page describing backflow testing services was created with key words and phrases included for optimized search. The home and contact pages content was also revised. The redesign project ended when the site was relaunched in February 2025.
